Story About Egyptian Replicas

King Tut Treasures Replicas The tomb of King Tutankhamun and all its marvelous treasures have captured the imaginations of people around the world since its discovery by British explorer Howard Carter one hundred years ago in 1922. The tomb’s chambers were filled from floor to ceiling with approximately five thousand unique artifacts including clothing, furniture, weaponry and even chariots! Items from King Tut’s tomb have been touring around the world and being showcased at several museums. However, today the most precious and fragile artifacts, most notably the infamous burial mask remain in Egypt. The golden funerary mask has been on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo but with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Tutankhamun collection will be housed there. The discovery of King Tut’s tomb is one of the most significant scientific and historical discoveries of the 20th century. This is due to the fact that King Tut’s mummy was found completely intact, perfectly preserved thanks to the elaborate mummification process. The mummy was found adorned with jewelry, crowns and walking sticks made out of solid gold and high-quality, imported wood that stood the test of time. The variety of items found in the tomb offered invaluable insight into the funerary, burial and religious beliefs of ancient Egypt. Over 5000 marvelous treasures of dazzling gold, jewels and the highest-quality materials available in antiquity were placed in the king’s tomb to assist him in the afterlife. The walls of the tomb are immaculately painted with detailed scenes of the voyage through the underworld and into the afterlife. The chamber contained four gilded shrines. Inside of these shrines was a beautiful sarcophagus adorned with red quarts. Inside of the sarcophagus were three nesting coffins, with the last coffin containing king Tutankhamun’s mummy. His body was wrapped in linen and his face covered by the infamous gold mask. With the discovery of the tomb, the archaeologists unearthed what has now become arguably the most iconic mask in the world. The mask accurately captures Tutankhamun’s facial features on two sheets of solid gold. The mask weighs a whopping 22 pounds! The expression on the mask is despondent yet peaceful. The mask is adorned with glass paste resembling the brilliant color of lapis lazuli as well as colored glass and other semi-precious stones. It is decorated with a vulture and cobra (representing the protection of the goddesses Wadjet and Nekhbet) on the forehead and falcon heads on the shoulders. These emblems are representative of Upper and Lower Egypt. The eyes are made from obsidian and quartz and outlines with semi-precious lapis lazuli. Here at Swan Bazaar, we are dedicated to offering accurate Egyptian replicas of the most iconic items from antiquity. Our King Tut funerary mask is carefully designed to accurately capture all the delicate facial features of the king as portrayed in the original mask. The mask is hand-crafted from high-quality mahogany wood and then meticulously covered with golden sheets. The facial features are hand-inlaid with precious stones by talented and professional artists located in the heart of Cairo. Every details of the mask is made with full attention and care to imitate the real mask. The striped nemes headdress and the broad collar are nearly identical to the real one. The back of the mask is covered with a spell from the Book of the Dead, intended to protect the king in his journey through the underworld. A plethora of jewelry was found in the tomb of King Tut. 143 of these golden items were ornamented with precious stones, depicting the sun god in all his forms. Archaeologists also unearthed 32 statues of king Tut and the gods of the afterlife all made of wood and embellished with gold. Our online Tutankhamen treasure includes accurate replicas of many of the statues found in the burial chambers. They are made in the same ancient technique—handcrafted from high-quality mahogany wood and covered with gold sheets. These statues are of the gods of the afterlife—Horus, Anubis, Serqet and Ptah. The gilded wooden figure Ptah is draped in intricate feather and wearing a blue faience skullcap exactly like the original. He is holding a scepter with the key of life. The original statue was discovered with other statues in the black cabinet which was found in the south wall of the treasure room. Ptah is the oldest Egyptian deity, considered the creator of the universe. He ensured that the deceased arrived to the afterworld. The original statue was created by Setau, the Viceroy of Kush during the reign of Ramesses II. One of the most important items to emerge from the burial chambers of King Tutankhamen is the only surviving throne chair from ancient Egypt. The king’s royal throne is truly a one of a king piece of arty. This ornate throne is distinguished by its complex technique and sheer amount of fine detail. Colored glass and precious stones were used to embellish the chair with sacred motifs and symbols. The seat is inlaid with a colorful array of quartz, making for a stunning vibrant mosaic. The contrast of the colors with the gold makes for an arresting piece. Own your very own exquisite king Tut throne accurate replica, made of durable mahogany wood, covered with gold leaf and adorned with precious mother of pearl. Gold is hammered into thin sheets to cover the entire chair. On all four sides of the throne, there is symbolic scenes related to the king, just like the original. The scenes are created by hand-inlaying mother of pearl shell or nacre. This precious decorative material emerged in ancient Egypt in the 16th Dynasty during the period of the Tanis Sphinx. King Tutankhamun’s burial chamber was full of awe-inspiring treasures that continue to amaze the world. Here at Swan Bazaar, we want to highlight and showcase the beauty of our country’s history by making accurate, hand-crafted replicas of the items found in the tomb. All of our replicas are made with the highest quality material just like that used by the ancient Egyptians.
