Antique leather wooden chair hand-carved from Asersus wood, native to Aswan, Egypt’s southernmost city. Asersus trees are quite rare, only found in some areas of Upper Egypt and India. Asersus Wood is characterized by the beauty of its grain and its malleability, making it easy to be shaped by hand.
Asersus is very dense and heavy to the extent that if it is well-prepared, it is very difficult for it to break. It is famous for being utilized widely in the boat industry because of its high durability and resilience.
The chair has been treated with natural oils to prevent any type of deterioration. This chair was carved meticulously by hand and bound using natural, high-quality leather. The frame of the chair is adorned with unique hand-etched Egyptian folkloric patterns.
