The wood has been treated with natural oils and covered with a thin layer of glass paint for a gorgeous lustrous finish and for full protection from any sort of deterioration. This planter or candle holder is hand-made by Egyptian talented craftsmen in our workshops in Cairo. It is crafted of Asersus wood, a wood that is worldwide known for its serve durability, beautiful colors and the fantastic natural shapes of the tree itself. Asersus trees are found in some areas of India and Egypt. It is especially found in Kom Ombo and Aswan in Egypt. The Asersus wood undergoes a long process of hand-working in order to transfer the plain wood to a beautiful product. Firstly, the trunks are left for 4 years to dry completely. Secondly, the trunks are trimmed for a smoother surface. Thirdly, the trunks are cut into slices in different thicknesses. Finally, the slices are made into the final product shapes.
